Potential homeowners invited to Habitat event

People who dream of owning a new house, but need help getting it built, are invited to a meeting Wednesday hosted by Lawrence Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization that helps build homes for families in need.

Families are required to perform “sweat equity” by helping build their homes and other Habitat homes under construction. In return, they’re allowed to purchase the home for the cost of materials on a no-interest mortgage.

Potential homeowners can pick up an application and information about the process during a meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Plymouth Congregational Church, 925 Vt.
