Main Street Live
6News Lawrence will be bringing its 6 p.m. broadcast to four communities across northeast Kansas in September. Find out all the details.
6News is taking its 6 p.m. show on the road in September — and we want you to be there see it live.
The first 150 people can enjoy free brats, soda and water compliments of Johnsonville and Pepsi.
We'll be in Tonganoxie, Basehor, Lawrence and Eudora each Wednesday night starting September 9. Each newscast will go in-depth on key issues facing each town, focus on some of the unique things to do, and include live interviews, sports and weather.
You’ll also be able to record a message to the world, stating just exactly why you love your town. All those messages will be posted here on LJWorld.com — some may be used in a commercial on Sunflower Broadband’s Channel 6.
You can check out each date to find out more about where we'll be, what sort of fun things we have planned and to send us your photos, which we might be able to use on our broadcast.

Neat idea, but why stop at those towns. What about adding Baldwin, Linwood, Lecompton, Perry, Oskaloosa, and Mclouth as well?

Hello. Several factors went into our selection of towns. We wanted to hit the communities where 6News is available. This includes the towns we chose and a couple other spots in the Lawrence area. We also had to factor in the technical aspects of beaming a signal back to the station. Due to the distance or terrain, some locations were not feasible.
We hope to make this an annual event and we're always looking for ways to expand our reach and improve our coverage.
Thanks for your interest.

Too bad. We get internet from you near Lecompton, if you can get that signal to us, why can't you get the TV signal? Thank you, Lynn

probably because they don't use the internet to send their signal back to the station. if they did, location wouldn't be an issue.
