Designs sought for arts license plate

? The Kansas Arts Commission is asking artists across the state to submit designs for a new pro-arts license plate.

Kansas lawmakers voted this year to let the commission create the plate and charge motorists $25 to $100 a year for it. While the commission must pay the state’s costs in producing the plate, it expects to raise at least $12,500 for programs supporting the arts.

Artists must be at least 10 years old and live in Kansas to submit their designs. The deadline is Oct. 15.

The commission says the design should promote a positive image for Kansas.
