Two people were injured Sunday in a car accident on the Kansas Turnpike near the west Lawrence exit.

A 25-year-old man was treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. A 4-month-old boy was also transported to the hospital. His medical status was unavailable. The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old Lawrence woman, was not injured.

According to an accident log, the accident occurred about 10:45 p.m. when the driver of the 2006 Honda carrying the two victims swerved to avoid another car and hit a barrier wall.
