Lawrence-based roadhouse restaurant and sports bar, Johnny’s Tavern, opened its first Missouri bar on Wednesday in the Kansas City Power & Light District. It is located on Grand Boulevard just south of 13th Street, on the first level of the northeast end of the Kansas City Live! Block.

The tavern is open daily from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. and features lunch, dinner, late-night bites and a variety of brews and cocktails.

It also features local sports memorabilia and iconic moments captured as black and white photographs on its walls, as well as more than 50 flat-screen televisions throughout the 5,771-square-foot space. The oversized bar area boasts a prominent 59-foot oak bar surrounded by flat-screens, bar tables and booths, as well as an outdoor patio in the KC Live! Block.
