Thank you so much to the local restaurants of Lawrence! A week ago, my family came to visit me from New York state. My father, who has celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder caused by gluten, has trouble traveling due to the difficulty of finding gluten-free items at restaurants. To our great surprise, many of the restaurants in downtown Lawrence were very accommodating to his dietary needs, making life much easier for us.
I encourage more restaurants to adopt menus that can accommodate people with celiac disease. Doing so not only draws in those on gluten-free diets, but their families as well.
