I can’t fathom why former Gov. Kathleen Sebelius fought the mercury-producing coal-powered plants set for construction in Holcomb, but won’t do the same for vaccine safety.

HHS Secretary Sebelius says no need to worry about mercury in vaccines; it is safe! What? Did I miss something? There has only been one safety study on thimerosal since its introduction nearly 80 years ago.

The testing was on 22 patients that were dying from meningitis. Because all 22 patients died, no long-term studies were completed. Thimerosal effects have never been studied on pregnant women, infants or children. Under the CDC’s watch of the past 20 years, autism, type 1 diabetes, obesity, SIDS, ADHD, ADD, asthma, allergies, and autoimmune disease has more than tripled.

What is going on? We don’t need health care reform; we need to reform government agencies that are supposed to protect us from disease instead of protecting industries and their huge profits. The untested swine flu vaccine should not be administered to anyone, especially our children and pregnant women.

In 1948, when the AMA and Dr. Frank Engley studied thimerosal, it was shown to be toxic at 1 nanomolar to tissue cells. Thimerosal (or methiolate) was removed from the over-the-counter market in the ’80s because it was too toxic for skin, so why do we inject into humans?
