To the editor:
Lawrence is fortunate to have the Journal-World in a time when so many dailies are closing shop and making it difficult for local news to get to the public.
For example, the front page for April 15 is fully devoted to only three local stories. KU’s athletic director gets a bonus of $750,000 while the school district ends its mental health program for lack of $250,000, and the homeless of or our community still need a shelter.
We need to know these things. Thank you, Journal-World.
