To the editor:

Well, Easter has passed, but the message of the cross still remains as God’s only complete solution to humanity’s sin problem. Unfortunately, our nation has chosen to ignore or does not understand this truth, which is why we are in this catastrophic financial predicament. The economic bailout, or any other manmade solution, is not the answer for our nation’s dismal state! Consider this:

1. It is clear from the Bible that God holds nations and individuals accountable. How can we as a nation find favor with God when we want to ignore Him and His truth as revealed in the Bible? For example, we want to remove Him from our government and schools, kill our babies, embrace individual and corporate greed, divorce our mates and practice sexual immorality.

2. We who believe in God must start living God’s ways or we will continue to experience God’s discipline, individually and as a nation. Read 2 Chronicles 7:14.

3. Non-Christians should consider the truth of John 3:16. You do not want to ignore this indescribable offer of God’s love and mercy.

Jesus is the Solution for individual and nations.
