Lawrence Police are seeking four male suspects in connection with an early Friday morning strong-arm robbery.

Police were called at 1:16 a.m. Friday to the 1200 block of Ohio Street, where a 20-year-old female reported her purse stolen. The female victim was walking northbound along Ohio Street with a 22-year-old man when the pair was approached by four men walking southbound.

The suspects – two white men and two black men – blocked the path of the male victim, knocked the female to the ground and stole her purse, according to Lawrence Police Sgt. Susan Hadl. The suspects took off running northeast between nearby houses toward Tennessee Street.

“We were in the area fairly quickly after the incident but couldn’t find any witnesses to offer any other leads,” Hadl said.
