Interim vice provost of diversity, equity named

Fred Rodriguez, associate professor in Kansas University’s School of Education, has been named as KU’s new interim vice provost for diversity and equity.

In addition to serving in the education school’s department of curriculum and teaching, Rodriguez also serves as director of both the Multicultural Scholars Program and the Professional Development Schools Alliance.

He was the school’s interim dean from 2004 to 2005, and was director of the Center for Teaching Excellence from 1997 to 2001.

Rodriguez will replace Maurice Bryan, who on July 1 will become director of employment practices at California State University-Chico.
