National Organization for Women President Kim Gandy will be the guest speaker at a Lawrence luncheon.

The Kansas NOW chapter will play host to the luncheon at noon Wednesday at Tellers, 746 Mass. Gandy also will give a speech later that evening as part of the Jana Mackey Distinguished Speaker Series at the Dole Institute of Politics.

Gandy, who has served as president since 2001, will focus Wednesday’s speech on the need for a Kansas Equal Rights Amendment and a Kansas Commission on the Status of Women.

The luncheon is invitation-only, and guests will include Kansas legislators and leaders from Kansas organizations that advocate on behalf of women.
