Health policy director gets excellence award
Charlotte Marthaler received the Kay Kent Excellence in Public Health Service Award from the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department.
Marthaler is director of policy and planning and has worked at the health department for 11 years.
The award is given annually to an outstanding employee during National Public Health Week. It is named after Kay Kent, who served as director of the department for 33 years.
