Dine out, take a walk or both.

These are easy ways to participate in the annual Lawrence Arthritis Walk, which raises money for the Arthritis Foundation.

The Lawrence Arthritis Walk kickoff will be from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. April 14 at Henry T’s Bar and Grill, 3520 W. Sixth St. Kansas University assistant basketball coach Danny Manning will be among the local celebrities waiting tables for tips that will go toward the walk.

The walk will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m. May 2 at the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America, 1421 Research Drive. There will be snacks and children’s activities. Opening ceremonies are at 9 a.m., followed by the 5K and 1-mile walks at 9:30 a.m. A recognition ceremony will be at 10:15 a.m.

Dog owners can bring their pets. Hill’s Pet Nutrition will give free dog goodies to participants, and those who raise at least $100 will receive a free dog T-shirt.
