The Douglas County AIDS Project will conduct its 2009 AIDS Walk on Saturday. The 1-mile walk/run will start at Maceli’s, 1031 N.H., at 8:30 a.m. and end at the restaurant with a complimentary breakfast.
Individuals and teams can register before the event or at 7:30 a.m. the day of the walk. Each walker must raise at least $20 to participate.
All proceeds from the event will fund DCAP programs such as education and outreach, case management and free HIV testing. Last year the event raised $17,000.

Sounds like a great fundraiser that those of us in the mainstream could enjoy. At least DCAP isn't sponsoring another drag show or Madonna-themed condom give-away.
