Pinckney School Principal Lesa Frantz has been named Principal of the Year.
The honor was bestowed Friday morning by the Lawrence Organization for Substitute Teachers. Frantz received the honor because she welcomes substitutes and values what they give to the school and Lawrence school district, the group said.
Frantz received a plaque and several gift certificates during a surprise ceremony. Her family and staff also showed their support with flowers.
Frantz said the entire school works together as a community to make visitors feel at home.
“I don’t think it’s me. I think it’s the whole Pinckney community,” she said. “We really try to make visitors to our school feel welcome.”
Frantz is the fourth principal to receive the honor.
