Judy A. Near, Lawrence interior designer and professional organizer, was named to the president’s honor roll for part-time students at Johnson County Community College for the fall 2008 semester.

In addition, she received the second-prize scholarship in the NKBA/GE 2009 Student Charette Design Competition at JCCC in December. The competition offers interior design students the opportunity to complete projects that showcase their knowledge of kitchen and bath design and demonstrate their competency in problem-solving, in addition to assessing and implementing clients’ needs.

The event takes place each year at college campuses across the United States and is sponsored by the National Kitchen and Bath Association and General Consumer Industrial Appliances.
