Law enforcement report

¢ Lawrence Douglas County Fire & Medical responded to a vehicle on fire on Interstate 70 just west of the West Lawrence interchange Monday. At 5:20 p.m., firefighters spotted a vehicle on fire in the eastbound lanes of the Kansas Turnpike. A Douglas County emergency dispatcher said no injuries were reported, and firefighters told dispatchers that vehicle is a small cargo van. A Kansas Turnpike Authority dispatcher said that one lane was temporarily closed in the area. No more information was available Monday night.

¢ A 21-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of two computers and other electronics from the 900 block of West 22nd Terrace. A gray Dell Inspiron computer, worth $1,500, a black and silver Dell notebook computer, worth $700, and a green iPod, valued at $400, were among the $2,760 of items missing. The incident happened between 5:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Friday.

¢ A 44-year-old Lawrence man reported $1,300 of U.S. currency missing from Affordable Used Cars, 952 W. Third St. The money went missing between Aug. 29 and Aug. 30.

¢ A 30-year-old Lawrence woman reported the theft of a black 1995 Mitsubishi Galant from the 2500 block of Redbud Lane. The vehicle was stolen between 2 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
