To the editor:

The Republican Party has controlled all three branches of our federal government for the past eight years. Even in the last two years, the Democratic majority has needed Republicans to help pass any legislation.

During this time the policies of the Republican Party have bankrupted our treasury, destroyed our middle class, shredded our Constitution, corrupted our legal system, sullied the honor of our armed forces, squandered our international prestige, antagonized both our allies and our enemies, and split our body politic by spreading lies, instilling fear and fomenting hatred.

“A house divided against itself can not stand.” John McCain’s party is responsible for all of these failed policies. The only way to change them is to vote for the Democratic Party.
