Keeping up
To the editor:
People are losing their homes because of the poor economy and higher taxes, and now the school board and the city think that Lawrence High doesn’t have as new or as much sports facilities as Free State.
Each time a school is built or replaced, will they all want what the other new school has, regardless of the economy and putting houses into foreclosure? We need to improve SAT scores, not sports fields. We are especially lagging behind other countries in math and science. Don’t we get a chance to vote on this? Our taxes are paying for it.
