Liberal media

To the editor:

I read Dolph C. Simons Jr.’s Saturday Column on Sept. 6. Unfortunately, I couldn’t tell whether it was written by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Laura Ingram, Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, Karl Rove or Dolph Simons Jr.

Full of quotes like “liberal television and print media,” “liberal television media,” “their liberal media friends,” “the elite media crowd” and “liberal media fraternity,” the column was run-of-the-mill right-wing media tripe.

Liberal media? I think not!

I find it impossible to turn on my radio or television or pick up a newspaper or magazine without being bombarded with more of the same old right-wing garbage.

More of the same from the right-wing crowd that has presented us with the largest deficit in U.S. history ($9.2 trillion and growing) and an ill-conceived war with more than 4,000 American soldiers dead and more than 30,000 wounded.

Add to that unemployment at a five-year high, 4.9 million Americans living in poverty, 47 million Americans with no health care insurance, more than 635,000 mortgage foreclosures and $4-per-gallon gasoline and you’ve got a pretty good picture of what the future would be with a Bush-McCain administration.

Is it the “liberal media” that we have to worry about? I think not.
