Hallmark announced this week that Lawrence resident Stephanie Kelton, pictured above with son Bradley, won the grand prize in its “Release Your Funnyness” greeting card contest.

Kelton’s card beat out 17 competitors, winning with 20 percent of the more than 24,000 votes cast.

The card, which features Kelton’s son Bradley, then 3 months old, reads: “They just told me Social Security’s going bankrupt and the polar ice caps are melting. Pass my bottle.”

Kelton and her family will receive a check for $1,000 along with $100 in Hallmark cards and a trip to Chicago for a private comedy workshop with the Second City comedy troupe.
