Sustainability board seeks residents’ input

Lawrence’s Sustainability Advisory Board wants to hear ideas about how to make the community more environmentally friendly.

The board – appointed by the City Commission – is working to create long-term goals for the city. Areas the board currently is exploring include improving residential waste reduction and recycling; the promotion of energy conservation; the use of public transportation; and encouragement for sustainable businesses and development.

Board members are asking for suggestions from residents via e-mail by Sept. 9. Suggestions can be sent to sab@ci.lawrence.ks.us.
