Scott and Susan Averill, Overbrook, and Charles E. Averill, Lake Quivira, purchased Wellsville Manor from AltaCare Corp., Alpharetta, Ga., who owned the Wellsville nursing home since 1994.
The Averills have changed the name of the nursing home to Wellsville Retirement Community. They also own Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook, which recently received the Promoting Excellent Alternatives in Kansas award at the Governor's Conference on Aging.
The Averills plan to add assisted living apartments and link the buildings together.
