Eudora complaint
To the editor:
I live in Eudora but I only live in Eudora; I do everything else in Johnson County or Lawrence. When I tell people the same thing I just wrote in the first sentence, they always give me grief asking me why I would take money out of the city I live in and give it to another city. And here is the answer: Because everywhere else is living in the year 2008.
Really, when I went to the Lawrence Wal-Mart to go back-to-school shopping in August, Wal-Mart had every city’s school supply lists but Eudora’s, the city closest to Lawrence. They had De Soto, Linwood, Basehor and towns I’d never even heard of, but the town 5 miles away couldn’t be bothered to add their lists to the walk-in displays?
It was not Wal-Mart’s fault.
Also Eudora had all summer long to repair the main bridge going into and out of town. They wait until school starts to work on the bridge. Oh, did you know you have to take the bridge to go to the middle and high school or risk your car getting destroyed on the pathetic back roads. The city planner for Eudora needs to be fired.
I sat at the stop light waiting to leave Eudora and I waited six minutes. Six minutes at a stop light, really.
Craig Harmon,
Eudora
