Students want to raise $18K at FunRun
The 26th annual Central Junior High School FunRun is set for 2:30 p.m. Friday, and students are aiming to raise $18,000 for the school.
Students and their advisers are competing against other classrooms for prizes, as they work to earn money that will go toward funding after-school activities, camp scholarships, assemblies, lecturers and a variety of special-needs programs.
The FunRun, a walk/run, is an annual tradition that involves the entire Central Junior High community. Assistant principal Lisa Clipsham said the public is welcome to participate in the 2.2-mile event, which wraps around the neighborhood and continues to the Douglas County Courthouse.
There’s no cost, but Clipsham said donations are appreciated. It raised about $18,000 last year.
