City OKs rezoning of bookstore property
Commissioners moved ahead with a rezoning for the Jayhawk Bookstore, 1420 Crescent Road, despite objections from neighbors.
Commissioners unanimously agreed to rezone the property to a mixed-use district, although neighbors protested that the zoning opens the area up to too wide a range of uses.
Currently the property is not zoned for a bookstore, which makes the business a legal nonconforming use. The property owners want remedy that situation for a variety of financial reasons.
