Negative ads

To the editor:

“I’m a savior, and my opponent’s a slimeball.”

It’s down to the electoral wire, and the negative ads are coming in fast and furious. What do we make of a nation where the most common source for an informed electorate is a constant barrage of misinformation? What would our country be like if candidates showed respect for each other and concentrated their campaigns on promoting their own plans and positions? What if the media played a concerted role in giving the citizenry real and detailed information as we decide our votes for our political representatives?

Anything the Journal-World can do to promote and provide accurate, concise and objective information on the candidates of all levels will be much appreciated.
