Overland Park ? Free State’s Drue Davis placed fifth in the all-around and Kelcy Bowers sixth as the Firebirds were third at the Sunflower League gymnastics meet on Thursday at Shawnee Mission West.

Olathe East won the team title with 105.675 points and was followed by SM Northwest (103.400) and FSHS (103.325).

Davis’ best event was the beam, on which she was second with 9.25 points. Amelia Firns-Hubert was second on the bars with 8.975.

Lawrence High didn’t record a team score.

Free State picked up a point in the World Company Cup standings for placing higher than LHS at league.
