Members of two Kansas University groups – Engineers Without Borders and Concerned, Active and Aware Students – on Friday will collect canned goods and non-perishable food items in Lawrence to benefit local food pantries.

The students will dress in costume and go door-to-door from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. as part of “Trick of Treat So Others Can Eat.”

Food items will be donated to East Central Kansas Economic Opportunity Corporation, which distributes food to local pantries.

Food may also be dropped off at ECKAN, 2518 Ridge Court, beginning at 9 a.m. Friday.
