Mona Kloster, general manager of Mid America Concessions, was recently awarded the Ron Athey Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2008 National Association of Collegiate Concessionaires convention in Las Vegas.

The award recognizes individuals for outstanding service to the collegiate concession industry as a concessionaire or vendor over a minimum five-year period.

Kloster previously worked for the Kansas Union and managed KU football game-day concessions operations and was instrumental in the start-up of Mid America Concessions. She also served a four-year term on the NACC board of directors and finished her term as president this year.

Mid America Concessions has been the athletic concessionaire for Kansas University for the past 17 years.
