Emporia ? Free State High’s volleyball team went 3-3 on Saturday at the Emporia Invitational.

Victories came against Lawrence High (25-9, 25-14), Mays (25-22, 25-20) and Junction City (25-8, 25-16).

The Firebirds lost to Emporia (15-25, 14-25), Topeka Seaman (16-25, 19-25) and Shawnee Mission Northwest (22-25, 25-11, 23-25).

Free State moved to 22-14 on the season. The Firebirds will play in the Blue Valley West triangular on Tuesday, face Lawrence High in a dual Thursday and participate in sub-state Saturday.
