Lawrence Memorial Hospital, 325 Maine, is hosting a blood drive for the Community Blood Center from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 23.

Everyone who donates will receive a food coupon and can enter to win tickets to the Kansas University football game against Texas Tech on Oct. 25.

The CBC is encouraging those who have never donated blood to participate. The center needs 580 pints of blood per day to meet the demand of hospitals it provides for, including LMH.

Blood donors must be at least age 16, weigh at least 115 pounds and be in good health.
