Bell ringers needed for Salvation Army
The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help ring in the holiday season.
Volunteers who sign up as bell ringers can pick the times and locations they work, for a minimum of two hours a week.
Bell ringing for the Christmas season begins Nov. 7 and lasts until Dec. 24. Sundays and Thanksgiving Day are excluded. Friends, neighbors and families can sign up to work together.
The Salvation Army is also encouraging businesses to donate to the Kettle Match program.
The tax-deductible donations match the kettle income on a particular day up to a predetermined amount of $500, $1,500 or $3,000.
Volunteers and businesses interested in participating should contact Aaron Smith, community relations director of the Lawrence Salvation Army, at 843-4188, extension 102.
