Parents who are concerned about the development of their young children have several opportunities to monitor their health.

Lawrence Early Childhood Special Services is screening 3- to 5-year-olds to ensure the development of their walking, talking, hearing, seeing and thinking skills are progressing normally.

Parents interested in having their child screened can schedule appointments on one of five dates: Oct. 14, Oct. 28, Nov. 11, Nov. 25 and Dec. 9.

All appointments take place at the East Heights Early Childhood Family Center, 1430 Haskell Ave.
