House fire causes $180,000 to $200,000 in damage

Multiple county emergency fire crews put out a house fire at 1448 E. 100 Road, west of Lawrence, after an initial call came into to police dispatch about 2 p.m.

No one was injured in the fire. One person was in the house when the fire started, but escaped unharmed, according to Will Shockley, assistant chief of Lecompton Township Fire and Rescue.

He estimated $180,000 to $200,000 in interior damage. The fire is still being investigated.

The responding township fire departments were Kanwaka, Lecompton, Wakarusa, Eudora, Clinton and Lawrence Douglas-County Fire & Medical.
