Event to celebrate book on Kansas landscapes

Kansas Land Trust will have a special event to celebrate the release of the book “The Nature of Kansas Lands” during an event today at Kansas University.

The event will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Commons at Spooner Hall, 1340 Jayhawk Blvd. The book, which is filled with photos, essays and facts about the variety of Kansas landscapes, is published by University Press of Kansas. Books will be available for purchase.

The event includes a short program with the authors and photographers. Beverly Worster edited the book, and Donald Worster wrote the foreword. Elizabeth Schultz wrote the essays, and Kelly Kindscher worked on the ecosystem facts.

The photographs are by Edward C. Robison III and Kyle Gerstner.

Intrust Bank is sponsoring the free event. All royalties from the book will support the work of the trust, based in Lawrence.
