Dan Cox, president of Mediaphormedia, Lawrence, is included in Presstime’s “20 Under 40” list for 2008.
Presstime, which is the magazine of the Newspaper Association of America, describes the featured members as “people, under the age of 40, who represent the innovative work being done at today’s newspapers.”
Others on the list, which appears in the magazine’s December issue, come from newspapers including the Arizona Republic, Des Moines Register, Houston Chronicle and Palm Beach Post.
Mediaphormedia is the online division of The World Company, which owns the Journal-World.
The magazine noted that Cox headed the team that developed Ellington, a publishing system that has made its way to about 35 media companies during the past five years. The system is used for LJWorld.com and other components of The World Company.
“The World Company is committed to providing our customers the best in everything we do, and the key to doing that is having great people,” said Patrick Knorr, chief operating officer of The World Company. “Dan Cox is one of those great people. It is well deserved that he is receiving national recognition as a leader in what online media can and should be.”

The World Company is easily in the Top 3 of self-promoting news outlets. I guess it makes Dolph feel better or something. Most media outlets cringe when they become part of the story (ala Washington Post during the Watergate mess)
