U.S. Bank branches are collecting food donations for the Salvation Army through Dec. 17. Local branches are at 900 Mass., 1807 W. 23rd St., 1600 E. 23rd St., 3500 W. Sixth St. and 2701 Iowa.

“The Salvation Army provides valuable services to those in need in our community,” said Brad Burnside, president of U.S. Bank in Lawrence. “For each food item donated, U.S. Bank will purchase an additional food item as a matching contribution.”

The following items are needed: nonperishable and canned foods including corn, beans, tomatoes and fruit; boxed meals such as macaroni and cheese and Asian noodles; chili, soups and beans; fresh cereals, oatmeal and boxed breakfasts; and juices, bottled water, baby formula and beverages.
