Emergency calls

A fire broke out Sunday evening in an outbuilding at an oil storage facility at 300 E. 1950 Road, east of Baldwin City.

According to a Douglas County Sheriff’s spokesman, the call orginially said an oil tank was on fire. The outbuilding was close to the tanks, but no tanks actually burned.

Several departments responded to the scene, including the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department, Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical, Palmyra Township Fire Department, Baldwin City Fire Department and the county’s hazardous materials team.

The fire did not threaten any homes or buildings; the facility is on a large field lot.

• Smoke detector activation, no fire, 8:57 p.m. Saturday, 1603 W. 15th St.
