Retail development spurs road plans

City commissioners are set to approve plans for road improvements on Sixth Street to accommodate the proposed Bauer Farm retail development at Sixth Street and Wakarusa Drive.

Background

The road improvements include a new right turn lane along westbound Sixth Street and a turn lane and median improvements along northbound Wakarusa Drive.

The project is expected to cost $800,000. The developers will pay for all of the costs through special assessments on their development’s property taxes.
