Turkeys needed for Thanksgiving meals

The Salvation Army is in need of turkeys to be distributed in Thanksgiving meal boxes this holiday season.

The Salvation Army will be supplying 150 families with all of the fixings for a Thanksgiving meal this year.

Turkeys or financial donations can be brought to the Salvation Army, at the corner of 10th and New Hampshire streets.

Volunteers are also needed from 9 a.m. to noon Monday to assist with packing the meal boxes, and to distribute the boxes from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Immediate needs

Mentors in the Lives of Kids (MILK) is hosting a holiday party from 12:45 p.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 3 for the Boys and Girls Club, 1520 Haskell Ave. Volunteers are needed to assist with decorating, entertainment and leading games. Anyone who can help is asked to contact aleesek@ku.edu.
