Issue of faith

To the editor:

Concerning the Faith Forum article of Nov. 15 on not believing (or having no faith) in God, Hebrews 11:6 (NEV) says, “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him.” Further, Hebrews 10:38 says, “But My righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.”

Romans 1:18-22 amplifies this displeasure, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For His invisible attributes, namely, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”

The result is summed up in John 3:16-18 for those who believe and those who don’t, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”
