Scott Zaremba, president of family-owned Zarco 66 Earth Friendly Fuels, was a featured speaker last week at the Blue Skyways Collaborative annual meeting in San Antonio.
Zaremba, a recipient of a Blue Skyways Partnership Award, discussed green technologies - including ethanol and biodiesel fuels, energy-efficient lighting and signs, informational pump displays, and production of wind and solar energy - at his station at the corner of Ninth and Iowa streets in Lawrence.
The collaborative is a voluntary, public-private network of people, businesses and communities that embraces partnerships and innovations and is working to reduce pollution emissions beyond regulatory requirements. The group's members span a 10-state region that includes Kansas and Missouri, and stretches from Minnesota to Texas.
