Some offices closed on Veterans Day

Government offices and public services in Lawrence and Ottawa will be open Tuesday, while city offices in Baldwin City, Tonganoxie, McLouth, Oskaloosa, De Soto and Eudora will be closed in observance of Veterans Day.

Douglas County offices will be open. Franklin and Jefferson county offices will be closed. State and federal offices will be closed.

Douglas County courts be closed, but Lawrence Municipal Court will be open.

City of Lawrence refuse and trash collection will not be affected, and the Lawrence Transit System buses will run. Kansas University and the Lawrence Public Library will be open.

The Lawrence Workforce Center and most banks will be closed.

The post office won’t make deliveries. UPS and FedEx will make deliveries.

LINK will serve meals and senior meals will be delivered. The Salvation Army, however, will not serve meals.

The customer service department of the Journal-World will be open for calls and walk-ins from 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. USA Today will be published.
