November 1, 2008, 10:11 p.m. Updated November 2, 2008, 12:33 a.m.

Lawrence police and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical responded to a motorcycle injury accident at milepost 203 in the eastbound lane of Interstate 70, just east of the East Lawrence interchange.

Kansas Turnpike Authority said Barclay Garret Mead, a 39-year-old Topeka resident, had severe injuries and was flown by air ambulance to a Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka.

The accident occurred about 9:40 p.m.

KTA reported that Mead's Harley Davidson motorcycle swerved into the left lane when he merged onto I-70 from the interchange. His motorcycle struck a 2007 Chevrolet. Authorities identified the driver of the Chevrolet as Steven K. Riemer, a 51-year-old Shawnee resident.

Mead's condition was not immediately available Sunday morning.

Godspeed and God bless.

wow I spelled that wrong... how crazy of me. I never do that. I think I was in shock, and worried. His truck is pretty damaged. He feels real bad. The DEER went really fast. It must have been very foggy out on that road last night.
