Teen arrested in minivan shooting case

An 18-year-old man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly shot up an unoccupied vehicle in Oskaloosa, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

David Thibault, Oskaloosa, was being held in jail on suspicion of criminal discharge of a weapon and criminal damage to property. He had no bond set late Friday.

Officers responded to a 911 call about someone shooting a gun in the 400 block of Park Street in Oskaloosa, a sheriff’s news release stated. Officers stopped a pickup truck seen leaving the area and took the suspect into custody.

A 1989 Chevrolet Astro minivan with several bullet holes was found at the shooting scene. Officers confiscated as evidence shell casings, a handgun and a shotgun.
