Green option

To the editor:

The Green Cemetery option seems perfect for me. Although I am in reasonably good health, I am of an age to consider what’s to become of my remains after I die.

Being chemically preserved and housed is not attractive. Cremating me would take a lot of fuel and produce no small amount of pollution. But returning my body to the earth and perhaps fostering the life of flowers or even a fruit tree seems to me to be what nature intends.

I very much hope plans for a Green Cemetery go forward, and I’ll do my best to stick around until that option becomes possible.
