Disturbance sends man to hospital

Douglas County Sheriff’s officers responded to a call for help Wednesday afternoon in southeast Douglas County.

Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Kari Wempe says a 20-year-old man called 911 “reaching out for help” around 12:45 p.m.

When officers arrived at the home in the 300 section of East 1950 Road, the man did not respond to them, Wempe said. Deputies could hear activity inside the house and eventually made their way in, taking the man into custody just before 3 p.m.

The man, who was not injured, was taken to an area hospital for evaluation, Wempe said.
