Marriage issues
To the editor:
I am wondering about the lives of those against gay marriage. Do they live with someone that they are not married to? Does the law tell them that they cannot marry someone of a different race? Is what you do in your bedroom a public matter?
Why should gay marriage be any different? It’s not the state’s business who marries whom, who sleeps with whom, people of two different races making a family together. Who are we to say that gay marriage is any different than marriage for heterosexuals?
I know many happy gay couples, and we should not be restricting them from making a happy, married life together. Some day this will seem as silly as the restrictions with relationships in the past.
